ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS
Media that expresses the breadth and depth of our experiences is critical to understanding ourselves, as well essential to fostering cross-cultural understanding.
Cause No Harm
Our new campaign focuses on integrating human rights as the basis of media maker and media participant relationships.
Our collaborative partners include ART WORKS Projects and The Video Consortium.
Survivor-Centered Filmmaking Practices
Our interest in Survivor Centered Filmmaking Practices arose during our advocacy campaign to bring awareness to the unethical practices in the making of Sabaya, a film featuring Yazidi survivors of sexual enslavement. We continue to advocate against exploitative filmmaking and to bring best practices in working respectfully with survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
The Power of Personal Documentary Films
The Power of Personal Documentary Films summarizes the findings of focus groups and an online survey that inquired about the experiences of emerging documentary filmmakers of color in the industry. In particular, we looked at the impacts of white supremacy on filmmakers.
