Jennifer Huang‘s film This Adventure Called California about the life of Arnoldo Lopez Contreras was the featured film for the Asian Pacific Islander (API) Legal Outreach’s annual gala on Saturday, November 6th, 2021. This film was developed as part of Re-Present Media’s Re-Take Oakland mentoring program for emerging filmmakers of color.

Congratulations to Re-Take Oakland filmmaker, A.K. Sandhu, who was selected for the DOC NYC x Video Consortium Storytelling Incubator! This initiative from DOC NYC and the Video Consortium connects emerging documentary filmmakers with underrepresented perspectives to established industry figures who provide hands-on creative consultation and professional guidance through a unique annual mentorship program.
Congratulations to Re-Take Oakland filmmaker, Jay Gash, for being selected for the 2022 Oakland Surge Fellowship! The Surge Fellowship supports emerging leaders of color in education and was created with the goal of expanding diversity in the education leadership pipeline. Jay is currently the Associate Director of Youth & Emerging Media Maker Programs & Creative Director of Youth Productions at Bay Area Video Coalition.
